Department Foreign languages and Pedagogy

The Department of Foreign Languages was established in 1960. Its first head was Senior Lecturer Velichka Ivanova Georgieva /1960-1968/. Until 1999 the department was managed in succession by Prof. Stefana Dimitrova /1968-1986/, Assoc. Prof. Ani Stancheva /1987-1992/, Assoc. Prof. Dimitrina Petrova /1992-1999/, Prof. Stefan Politov /1999-2009/, Senior Lecturer Evelina Georgieva /2009-2016/ and Assoc. Prof. PhD Tanya Pancheva /2016-2020/.

By a decision of the Faculty Counsel of 25.02.2020 Assoc. Prof. Pancheva, PhD was approved as a Head of Department.

The teachers at the Department of Foreign Languages have written various textbooks for university students and have published dozens of articles in national and international journals. (see the information about individual lecturers).
