Course objectives:
The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with the main points of the nature and development of the disease infection, contamination by pathogens and mechanisms for plant protection, epidemiology, morphology, structure, classification, cycle of development and identification of phytopathogenic viruses, bacteria and mushrooms.
Course description:
The course is provided to study the most widespread and harmful plant diseases and the pathogens that cause them over the territory of the country. Students will be introduced to the basic methods for identification of phytopathogens. The latest theories, original, principle of action and possibilities for introducing plant resistance to phytopathogens are included. They will become acquainted with the biology, epidemiology and methods of control of the pests of all economically significant diseases in crops, in accordance with the requirements of good agricultural practice. The acquired knowledge during this training course is a necessary and obligatory condition for the development of solid knowledge in special phytopathology, chemical protection, monitoring of occurrence and signaling of plant diseases and pests, etc. subjects of the Plant Protection Master's course.
