The Faculty of Agriculture in Sofia has started the implementation of the activities in the framework of the project "Modernization of higher education for sustainable use of natural resources in Bulgaria" (NatuResEdu) contract № BG05M2ОP001-2.016-0022. The project is funded by the Operational Program "Science and Education for Smart Growth" 2014-2020. The Faculty of Agriculture will participate in activities aimed at modernizing the professional fields "Plant Breeding" and "Plant Protection" in response to the digital transformation of education; increasing the capacity of teachers and students; creating an environment for career development students.

In cooperation with the Technical University of Gabrovo, the Thracian University of Stara Zagora and the University of Shumen "Bishop Konstantin Preslavski" joint curricula will be created.

Five of the leading agricultural universities in Europe are participating in the project, as associate partners, as follows: BOKU University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, Austria; University of Cordoba, Spain; University of Craiova, Romania; University of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest, Romania; University of Agriculture, Krakow, Poland. The project provides funds for mobility of students, PhD students and lecturers in the listed associated partners.
