The course "Architecture and Construction" is taught in the fifth semester of the “Bachelor“ academic degree curriculum of the specialty “Engineering Design (Interior and Furniture Design)“ with a total of 60 hours under the scheme 30 hours lectures and 30 hours seminars. It deals with fundamental issues of design and implementation of the structural and non-structural elements of the building in respect of certain architectural requirements for them: functional, aesthetic and technical. It deals also with the ways of their representation in the drawing. Students acquire knowledge of the language of architecture and the basic architectural building requirements, which must be observed in reconstruction of interiors.
The course ends with a coursework representing basic plan, layout, cuts and elevations of a given architectural scheme. Assessment is ongoing and is based on evaluation of the project and its presentation and evaluation of a theory test.
