Using geographic information systems is among the latest trends and directions of development of information technology. Year after year GIS are becoming more widely used in database management. Through them different types of tasks are solved in almost all areas: urban planning, social management, administration, public security, military management, energy, land division and land use, etc.. Their use in forestry is very useful and rational. The course provides the study of theoretical and practical issues associated with the creation of graphical and tabular data bases for forestry in a given GIS. Also many practical problems are solved through analysis of spatial data from the created data bases and outputs are created in the form of thematic forest maps.
