The course "Seeds and nursery production and forestations" has theoretical and applied -technology character. It provides the necessary basic scientific knowledge of the issues associated with the establishment and growing of sustainable forest plantations for timber and other forest materials production; of protection against natural and anthropogenic factors, as well as of landscaping and recreational environment.
The course is structured in three sections – Forest seeds production, Nursery production and Afforestation. The first section deals with the provision of forest reproductive materials. In the second, the production of propagating material in forest nurseries is considered. The third – the methods for establishment of forest plantations and the care that should be taken about them, as the main categories of afforestations – industrial, protective, landscape, special and their specific goals are discussed.
