Official opening of the academic year
The Faculty of Forest Industry organizes various events and information days aimed at informing the students about the opportunities, provided by the University of Forestry, in relation to their development as future specialists. An example is the joint event on the occasion of the official opening of the academic year, organized in cooperation with the Bulgarian Branch Chamber of Woodworking and Furniture Industry (BBCWFI), entitled “Getting to Know the Profession”. The aim of this event is to introduce the first-year students of the specialities “Technology of Wood and Furniture” and “Engineering Design (Interior and Furniture Design)” with the chosen profession and meet representatives of prominent companies in the field, former students who have successfully graduated and started their own businesses, as well as with the university lecturers and students from the upper courses of study. During this event the participating companies present their own stands where the students from all courses can obtain relevant information about the possibilities for conducting student and candidate engineering internships.
Training Practices
The Faculty of Forest Industry relies on the well-established and sustainable partnership with many woodworking and furniture companies for conducting the annual student practices, included in the curricula of the specialities “Technology of Wood and Furniture” and “Engineering Design”, some of which are Buldecor Ltd, MIM Bulgaria, Mebelor Ltd, Irim OOD, Kolorado, Erodesign, Irely Ltd, Genomax Ltd, Welde Bulgaria AD, Obnova Cooperation, Kremona – Bulgaria EOOD, KRONOSPAN BULGARIA EOOD, Kastamonu Bulgaria AD, Mondi Stambolijski EAD, and many others.
