Svetoslav Mladenov Anev – associate professor, Doctor of science

Svetoslav Anev graduated from the University of Forestry in 2005 with a master’s degree in Forestry. Since 2007, he has been a PhD student in the Department of Dendrology. In 2009, he began working at the University of Forestry as an assistant professor, and since 2012, he has been a chief assistant professor. In 2012, he defended his PhD dissertation on the topic “Ecophysiological studies of European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) in the region of Western Stara Planina”, and in 2025, he defended his DSc dissertation on the topic “Physiological acclimation of European beech”. Since 2018, he has been an associate professor in Plant Physiology.

Research interests:

  • Environmental plant physiology;
  • Ecophysiological modeling;
  • Stress physiology;
  • Physiological basis of silviculture.
