XIII International Scientific and Technical Conference “Innovations in Forest Industry and Engineering Design – INNO’2026”

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we are pleased to invite you to participate in the XIII International Scientific and Technical Conference “Innovations in Forest Industry and Engineering Design – INNO’2026”, to be held on 8–10 October 2026 at Park Hotel Vitosha, Sofia, Bulgaria.

А peer-reviewed conference proceedings volume with full papers will be published (print, ISSN 3033-1005). In addition, selected contributions may be submitted to our Special Issue in Forests (MDPI): https://www.mdpi.com/journal/forests/special_issues/B56H7Y0D8B
INNO’2026 provides a forum for scientific exchange and networking in the broad area of forest-based materials and wood science, with emphasis on biocomposite materials and technologies, furniture manufacturing and interior/furniture design, wood resources and material supply, and ecology and circular bioeconomy/circular economy.

Since 2008 the Faculty of Forest Industry at the University of Forestry has organized the International Scientific and Technical Conference on Innovations in Forest Industry and Engineering Design.
The main goal of the conference is to create an environment for the exchange of scientific information, sharing good practices and establishing personal contacts between researchers, experts and business representatives working in the field of woodworking, the production and design of furniture and wood products.
Traditionally, the conference presents reports from Bulgaria, Slovakia, Croatia, Romania, Greece, Turkey, Northern Macedonia, Serbia and others.

The upcoming conference will be the 11th and will be held in the period of 3-5 October 2022 at Hotel Rila in Borovets Resort.

Important deadlines
- March 1, 2022 – submission of an Application form and paper abstract (in English);
- March 10, 2022 – confirmation of received requests;
- May 15, 2022 – payment of registration fee and submission of Registrations form (inno_conference@ltu.bg);
- May 15, 2022 – deadline for booking accommodation in Rila Hotel, Borovets at preferential prices; each participant makes his own reservation;
- July 1, 2022 – complete paper submission.

2021: International Conference ”Forestry: Bridge to the future”
Dear colleagues and friends,
University of Forestry and Faculty of Forestry are organizing an International Scientific Conference “Forestry: Bridge to the Future”, which will take place on 05–08 May 2021 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The conference was scheduled for 06-09.05.2020 and subsequently postponed. The Organizing committee of the conference decided to conduct the event in a hybrid format. Participants will have the choice of attending in person or virtually.
Participants attending the event in person will benefit from live interactions and networking opportunities. Additional measures for social distancing and hygiene will ensure a safe and comfortable experience.
The Conference scope covers the broad range of forestry science. We have invited eminent keynote speakers, like: Prof. Valeriu-Norocel Nicolescu, Transilvania University of Brasov, Romania, Faculty of Silviculture and Forest Engineering; Dr.ir. Mart-Jan Schelhaas, Wageningen University & Research, Netherlands, Wageningen Environmental Research; Prof. Georgi Kostov, University of Forestry, Bulgaria, Department of Sylviculture; Prof. Raffaele Spinelli, National Research Council of Italy, Trees and Timber Institute.
