Laboratory of Geodesy and Photogrammetry (laboratory 306)
Activity – Educational: There are conducted all year-round lectures and practical classes in the following academic disciplines: Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Remote sensing, Geographic Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing, Geodesy and Vertical planning and Geoformation technologies. The laboratory is equipped with geodetic instruments, photogrammetric instruments, maps, aerial photographs, satellite images, showcases, boards, brochures and other demonstrative materials. For the practical training in Geodesy of students in Forestry, Landscape Architecture, Ecology and Environmental Protection. The laboratory has optical geodetic instruments: theodolites, levels and tachometers-self-reducers and seven GPS devices – a GPS TOPCON GMS-2, a GPS Etrex and 5 devices SPEEDDATA TT 45 with software Easy Map, 5 GPS devices NEWLAND NFT10 Pilot Pro with Carry Map software, loaded with vector and attribute data for forest territories. For the training in Photogrammetry and Remote sensing 10 mirror stereoscopes with luminous tables and stereomicrometers are used, two stereopantometers, 10 optical pantographs, three interpretation devices Interpretoskop B, stereo mapping device Topocart D, terrestrial stereo photogrammetric camera Zeiss 120 B, stereo comparator, and digitizer CAL COMP 9500 (А0). For the training in the Close Range Photogrammetry, the laboratory has an Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) EVO II Pro 6K RTK Rugged Bundle V3. It contains an EVO II V3 Aircraft drone with a 6K camera, an EVO II RTK precise RTK module supporting PPK, a Smart Controller, etc. technical components
Laboratory of Digital Stereophotogrammetry, Remote Sensing and GIS (laboratory 506)
Activity – Lectures and practical classes are held year-round in the following academic disciplines: Geographic Information Systems (GIS), GIS and Remote Sensing, Specialized GIS Applications, Geoinformation Technologies, and Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. The laboratory provides a high-tech level of training for students in Forestry, Landscape Architecture, Ecology and Environmental Protection, and Plant Protection through 5 digital photogrammetric workstations and 8 computer configurations, multimedia and Internet access. Throughout specialized software for digital image processing of aerial and satellite images, students gain knowledge and skills for the practical application of Digital stereophotogrammetry, Remote sensing, GIS in the fields of forestry, ecology and environmental protection, landscape architecture, and agronomy. The regular classes of the GIS Club in the University of Forestry are carried out using the standard GIS software equipped in the laboratory, supplemented with Open Source software for working with vector, raster and attribute data for the territory of Bulgaria. Graduates and PhD students conduct their researches in the laboratory of Digital Stereophotogrammetry, Remote Sensing and GIS.
