The second edition of the initiative organised by the Faculty of Forest Industry will take place at the University of Forestry from 21 to 23 October 2026, bringing together representatives of 10 vocational high schools from across Bulgaria.
From 21 to 23 October 2026, the University of Forestry will host the second edition of the initiative “TOGETHER WE CAN ACHIEVE MORE”, organised by the Faculty of Forest Industry. The educational forum will bring together pupils and teachers from 10 vocational high schools representing 10 cities across Bulgaria, students and academic staff of the University of Forestry, as well as representatives of the furniture manufacturing and woodworking industries.
The official opening ceremony will take place on 21 October 2026 at 14:00 in Acad. Mako Dakov Hall, on the third floor of the University of Forestry’s Main Building.
The initiative aims to strengthen links between vocational education, higher education and business. A key focus will be to present the educational opportunities offered by the degree programmes of the Faculty of Forest Industry and to highlight career prospects in woodworking, furniture manufacturing, interior design and interior architecture.
The programme will include presentations, meetings with students, academic staff and industry representatives, familiarisation with the University’s teaching facilities and infrastructure, and a visit to a modern furniture manufacturing enterprise. Pupils and university students will also work in mixed teams, taking part in vocational guidance activities and games designed to encourage the exchange of knowledge and ideas and to develop collaboration and teamwork skills.
The forum provides an opportunity for direct dialogue among the stakeholders involved in preparing the next generation of professionals. For pupils, it offers insight into the pathway from vocational qualifications at secondary school to university education and subsequent employment in industry. For teachers, academic staff and business representatives, the event provides a platform for exchanging experience and developing sustainable partnerships.
The first edition of “TOGETHER WE CAN ACHIEVE MORE” took place in 2024 and received positive feedback from participants. The experience gained confirmed the value of the initiative as a platform for cooperation between vocational high schools, the University of Forestry and industry.
The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science as part of Project BG05SFPR001-3.001-0001, “Modernisation of Vocational Education and Training”, funded under the Education Programme 2021–2027, co-financed by the European Union.
Through “TOGETHER WE CAN ACHIEVE MORE”, the Faculty of Forest Industry continues to foster cooperation between vocational education, academic training and the practical needs of industry. The initiative supports informed educational and career choices while broadening opportunities for young people’s professional development.
