Students Reimagine the University of Forestry: A Fresh Perspective on the Central Foyer
Following our previous announcement about the “Design Project” academic module, the University of Forestry is pleased to invite students, PhD students, academic staff and administrative staff to the final presentation of the student projects developed by fourth-year students of the Engineering Design (Interior and Furniture Design) programme.
The event will take place on Friday, 6 November 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Assembly Hall of the University of Forestry. During the final presentation, the student teams will showcase their proposals under this year’s theme: “Students Reimagine the University of Forestry: A Fresh Perspective on the Central Foyer.”
For the 15th consecutive year, the University of Forestry is holding the week dedicated to the “Design Project” academic module, organised by the Department of Interior and Furniture Design. This year, students are working on the assignment “Conceptual Interior Design Project for the Central Entrance Foyer of Building A at the University of Forestry”, commissioned by the University itself. The task invites students to develop proposals for the renewal of an important space within the University environment, combining a creative approach and enthusiasm with careful consideration of the existing spatial characteristics and project requirements.
Over the years, this project-based educational module has established itself as an effective approach to developing students’ professional skills, creative thinking and teamwork abilities. Its significance has also been recognised through a prestigious award recently presented by the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (NEAA) for successful cooperation between the University and business organisations.
Throughout the week, the student teams are working under the supervision of Prof. Vasil Zhivkov, Prof. Stella Tasheva, Chief Assist. Prof. Maria Konstantinova, Chief Assist. Prof. Boryana Petrova and PhD student Eng.-Designer Polina Yunchova-Kolova from the Department of Interior and Furniture Design. The teaching team is joined by Ilian Milinov, one of Bulgaria’s most distinguished and award-winning product designer, and Arch. Yavor Makyov, owner of Studio PROCONCEPT.
