Forestry University student Yasen Stefanov Petrov achieved a remarkable success at the National Student Mathematics Olympiad”, earning a silver medal and representing the University with distinction among some of the strongest mathematics students in Bulgaria.

Competing in a group of more than 50 participants from various universities and faculties across the country, Yasen Petrov secured an impressive 17th place in the final individual ranking. His achievement reflects strong analytical skills, in-depth mathematical knowledge, and excellent performance in solving problems covering a range of advanced mathematics topics.

This success is the result of sustained dedication, hard work, and focused preparation through the “Advanced Mathematics Study Group” at Forestry University. During the preparation period, participants worked on problems from previous Olympiads and specialized mathematics collections designed for students in technical higher education, with Yasen actively contributing through regular presentations of his own solutions and approaches.

The accomplishment also reflects the professional guidance and commitment of Assistant Professor S. Tsvetanov, who coordinated the student’s preparation and has consistently supported the participation of Forestry University students in prestigious national academic competitions.
