The University of Forestry and BG-Pozitiv Sign a Memorandum of Cooperation
The University of Forestry has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the independent media platform “BG-Pozitiv“, marking the beginning of a partnership aimed at supporting youth initiatives, promoting positive examples within society, and fostering values such as initiative, responsibility, and civic engagement.
The memorandum was signed by the Rector of the University of Forestry, Assoc. Prof. Hristo Mihaylov, PhD, who welcomed Deyan Filipov—Founder and Editor-in-Chief of “BG-Pozitiv”, as well as Assistant at the “Konrad Adenauer Foundation“ in Bulgaria.
During the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Mihaylov emphasized that the University of Forestry is committed to encouraging young people whose initiative, ideas, and professionalism contribute to the development of society.
“I believe that today, more than ever, we need journalism that does more than simply inform. We need journalism that is capable of discovering and highlighting the beauty of everyday life, the positive examples, and the individuals whose work makes a meaningful difference in our communities. It is young people who bring new perspectives and inspire society through their energy, commitment, and values,” the Rector stated.
“BG-Pozitiv” is an independent media platform dedicated to sharing positive news and inspiring stories from Bulgaria and Bulgarian communities around the world. The platform highlights achievements in culture, sports, the economy, science, innovation, and public life—topics that often remain outside the spotlight of the daily news cycle. Through its consistent editorial work, the media outlet demonstrates that quality journalism can not only inform but also foster public trust, encourage active civic participation, and inspire through authentic stories of achievement.
This philosophy closely aligns with the mission of the University of Forestry. Over the years, the University has consistently supported young people by creating opportunities for their academic, professional, and personal development, encouraging their initiative, and recognizing them as key drivers of sustainable progress. Whether supporting students, early-career researchers, entrepreneurs, or young leaders of civic initiatives, the University remains committed to empowering individuals who demonstrate vision, responsibility, and a genuine desire to contribute positively to society.
The University extends this same confidence to its own students, who continually demonstrate their potential through achievements in education, scientific research, professional competitions, volunteer initiatives, and community engagement. For the University of Forestry, their accomplishments represent the clearest evidence that knowledge, when combined with dedication and opportunities for growth, leads to meaningful and lasting results.
The signing of the memorandum reflects the University of Forestry’s ongoing commitment to building partnerships with organizations and young professionals who share the conviction that positive examples deserve to be recognized and that young people should be encouraged and supported in realizing their full potential.
