A briefing with the Rector of the University of Forestry, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hristo Mihaylov, and the Mayor of Burgas Municipality, Mr. Dimitar Nikolov, will be held on 13 August

The University of Forestry and Burgas Municipality will present the opportunities for the development of higher education and the professional prospects of young people in the region at a special briefing held on the occasion of the opening of the University of Forestry’s branch in Burgas.

The briefing will take place on 13 August 2026 at 12:00 p.m. in the Meeting Hall of Burgas Municipality. It will be attended by the Rector of the University of Forestry, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hristo Mihaylov, and the Mayor of Burgas Municipality, Mr. Dimitar Nikolov.

During the meeting, the opportunities that the new branch creates for students and young people will be presented, along with its significance for the development of the region. Particular emphasis will be placed on the role of higher education in supporting the development of the local economy, creating new opportunities for professional realisation, and educating qualified professionals in fields of practical relevance to the needs of the region.

At the University of Forestry’s branch in Burgas, students will have the opportunity to pursue studies in the following programmes: Landscape Architecture, Forestry, and Wood and Furniture Technology.

The briefing will also address opportunities for closer cooperation between the academic community, local authorities, and the business sector, as well as the contribution of higher education to the economic and social development of Burgas and the surrounding region.
